Portugal is the first police force in the world to opt for Nissan’s highly-successful battery-powered Leaf as a patrol car. And while it’s not likely to be used in a hi-speed persuit, the continental cops claim it will significantly cut fuel costs patrolling urban areas around the country. A total of five have been purchased, following highly-successful trials. And the choice is a good one, when you consider how many cop cars’ spend hours just cruisn’ – albeit with a purpose !
